Emma Silver
URJ Camp Newman Assistant Director & NFTY CWR Advisor
Emma Silver is thrilled to be joining the team as URJ Camp Newman Assistant Director and co-NFTY CWR Regional Advisor. As a NFTY alum and a former Newman camper and summer staff member, she knows the transformational impact of these experiences firsthand and is excited to empower teens to cultivate strong relationships, exercise leadership among their peers, and continue to grow and discover meaningful Jewish community and identity.
Emma is a graduate of Brandeis University with degrees in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies and Sociology, where she gained a deeper understanding of Judaism and Jewish life in all its forms. She recently moved back to the Bay Area after spending two and half years in New York City working for the URJ as the Executive Assistant to the President, and teaching religious school at the Brooklyn Heights Synagogue. Emma is excited to follow in the footsteps of giants in ‘breaking the box’ and continuing to strengthen, grow, and modernize Reform Jewish life through this work.
Beto Salazar-Poss
URJ Camp Newman Assistant Director & NFTY CWR Advisor
After many years working behind the scenes with NFTY CWR and the past several months as an Assistant Director at Camp Newman, I am excited to now be sharing a position that lets me do both!
I am thrilled to be able to continue positively impacting the lives of our youth by helping to create moments of magic and awe and by creating a safe space for them to be curious and grow. Working at camp during the summer and continuing to work with our teens during the year through NFTY has been an absolute blessing. I’m so happy to be able to put my passion and energy into both Camp Newman and NFTY CWR, and into strengthening the bridge between the two.
