We make every effort to ensure that no teen will miss an event due to financial restraints. We now have more scholarships available than ever before: $100 off for all first-time participants and first-come, first-serve scholarships for all other participants! What is a NFTY Homestay?
A homestay is a NFTY event wherein we call on congregational families of the hosting TYG (Temple youth group) and synagogue to house our participants for the retreat weekend. We ask each family to host between 3-10 teens for the weekend. The host families provide transportation to and from the hosting synagogue for programming, breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning, safe and clean space for teens to relax and sleep, like beds, couches, and carpeted floors. Teens are expected to come with sleeping bags, pillows, etc. (just like Camp!). All group programming takes place on the congregational campus on Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday morning. Outside security is onsite at all times while the teens are onsite at the congregation.

This event is open to any Jewish teen in grades 9 to 12.
Registration is hosted by URJ Camp Newman. If you have attended a previous NFTY event or summer program at Camp Newman, you already have an account in our system. For information on how to register, click here.
Teens are expected to participate in the entire event. Fees are set at a full package rate and we cannot prorate registration.
A limited number of scholarship discounts are available for this event.
Bus transportation is provided from various locations in the region. These times are tentative, updated bus stops, and times will be shared as soon as possible. Buses must have 12 or more participants to run.
Participants may not drive themselves to or from the event or NFTY provided transportation. If traveling by car, the driver must be a parent or guardian over the age of 21.

Participant Families will receive a pre-event email within 1-2 weeks of the event. These confirmations include finalized travel information, packing list, contact information and other important event details.
NFTY recognizes that our participants may need to cancel after registering for an event. If you need to cancel, the registration fees you paid will be refunded as follows:
Through September 7, 2018 – 90%
Through September 22, 2018 – 75%
Through October 6, 2018 – 50%
After October 8, 2018, we will not be able to issue any refunds for cancellation. If you need to cancel for medical reasons, we are happy to offer a 90% refund of your registration fees. Please note that we cannot offer credits in exchange of refunds.
All cancellation must be in writing. We will accept cancellations by email to firstname.lastname@example.org of email@example.com. We’re sorry, but we cannot accept cancellations over the phone. Please allow up to six weeks after the conclusion of the event for your refund to be processed.

Below is a suggested packing list. A full packing list will be sent in the pre-event email.
- Big Fun Dress: More information to be provided.
- Linens: Sleeping bag, pillow and towel.
- Toiletries: Shampoo, Soap, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Deodorant
- Appropriate, casual clothing for the weekend. Weather forecast calls for lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s. Please bring nicer close for Friday night Shabbat services with the Rodef Sholom community.
- Optional Items: Kippah and Tallit, money for merchandise and NFTY notes (notes to write your friends), guitars and musical instruments, sports clothes/hiking shoes if you would like to participate in outdoor activities.
- NFTY does its best to be green. Please bring a reusable water bottle for the bus rides.
